Happy New Year! So we are well into 2017 and this year I am aiming to make this the most productive and successful year ever.
With the festive formalities out the way I’m back with another fashion post. This week it’s all about the 90’s!
If I had to choose one favorite takeaway from the decade that brought us the Spice Girls, Clueless and Milky Pens, it’s definitely the fashion statements from the 90’s. You’ve seen (or worn) it in the 90s and now you’re seeing it again on the streets more than ever. Yes, ladies, the slip dress over T-shirt is back.
While a few years ago we might have knotted a plaid shirt around our waist for a real nod to grunge, the new 90s is about clean, subtle references that have one foot firmly in the present.
In this post I will be showing you 4 ways to wear this oh-so-90’s trend.
A cropped tee sits well underneath a simple black slip (aka the new LBD) and is perfect for day wear. What I love about this look is how easily you can wear it and how many ways you can style it. It’s effortless, cool, and chic, and I’m hoping it’s is here to stay.

Layering your cami over a slightly clingy, ribbed tee is suddenly fresh again and means those beautiful slip-like tops we all lust after get so much more cost per wear. Vintage denim adds to the feel and minimalist jewelry keeps the whole thing from being too “throwback-like”.

If you thought wearing a shirt under a dress would make you look destined for the school playground, think again. Adding a crisp collared shirt under this cool wrap dress creates a striking contrast that encapsulates the benefit of transitional layering.

With this statement gold dress, it’s important to keep all other ensembles and accessories quite simple. Throw on a leather jacket and some sexy heels and babe you’re ready for date night.

Call the slip dress the staple that will never die.
