New Year, New Green

The Pantone Color Institute just unveiled the 2017 Color of the Year: Greenery.

Greenery signifies beginnings: a fresh New Year; healthier food resolutions and growing vegetarian trends; grass and the outdoors during spring and summer.

This resonates with me as just having graduated and entering the working world this is the year to start fresh.

“This is the color of hopefulness, and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the ‘re’ words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew.” Said Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

While you may not be seeing this color in the shops right now as South Africa is two seasons behind the big fashion influencers, the color was popular on the runway for many S/S ’17 collections.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find this specific hue of green but I did find the beautiful bottle green jumpsuit. After all fashion is about interpreting it in a way that makes you feel confident and this jumpsuit did just that.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing this vibrant color pop up this year. Will you be experimenting with the bold and brave color?
